The Astros celebrated their championship banner unveiling by clobbering the Orioles 6-1 at their home opener in Houston. Marwin Gonzalez homered and Derek Fisher drove in a pair of runs for the 'Stros. George Springer, Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman each plated a run in the win. Charlie Morton struck out six over six frames of three-hit ball to pick up the win as Houston improved to 4-and-1. Trey Mancini went deep in the ninth inning for the O's to break up the shutout. Chris Tillman surrendered four runs in four innings to take the loss as Baltimore fell to 1-and-3.
