Area of Concern:
- Tonight - Far western areas, across Val Verde and Edwards Counties.
- Tuesday through Wednesday - Most of South Central Texas.
Threats & Impacts:
Winds: Isolated storms capable of producing damaging straight-line wind gusts up to 60 mph.
Hail: Isolated storms capable of producing large hail.
Rainfall: 1-2 inches common along and east of a Burnet to Uvalde line (see attached graphic). Isolated pockets of 3-4 inches can't be rule out east of this line. Lesser amounts near the Rio Grande.
Timing and Overview:
An upper level storm system and cold front moving across South Central Texas will generate showers and storms Tuesday through Wednesday across much of South Central Texas. The best chance of storms will occur across the Rio Grande Tuesday afternoon and evening and across the Hill Country, Winter Garden region, and along and east of the I-35 corridor late Tuesday night through Wednesday.
Some storms could become strong to severe, with large hail and damaging straight-line winds the primary threat. In addition, isolated pockets of heavy rainfall are possible east of a Burnet to Uvalde line. However, recent drought conditions should limit widespread flash flooding issues.
There is also a low chance of strong to severe storms tonight across Val Verde and Edwards Counties.
