Police think the murder of a 22 year old woman on the city's northwest side this morning was a bungled robbery attempt, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Detectives say two men and the woman were walking near an apartment complex on Danny Kaye Street, which is off Callaghan Rd, when a man wearing some sort of mask over his face approached them with a handgun.
He attempted to rob the three of their valuables, and then opened fire.
The woman, who has been identified as Candida Jimenez, was shot several times, she was pronounced dead at the hosptial.
One of the men was shot and wounded. He has been identified as Homero Sandoval, also 22.
The gunman ran away. Police aren't sure why the robbery attempt turned deadly, or of the killer got away with any valuables.
