Arson is suspected in an overnight fire that destroyed a southwest side home, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
By the time firefighters arrived at the house in the 800 block of Thompson Place, which is near the former Kelly Air Force Base, flames were already shooting out of the house, and it was quickly declared a total loss.
Nobody was home at the time, and the fire started on the porch, which leads investigators to suspect that the fire was no accident.
