USAA Raises Minimum Wage, Begins Offering Paid Paternal Leave

San Antonio based financial services company USAA has always had a reputation as a leader in employee benefits, and now USAA is setting the bar higher, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

USAA today announced that it will raise its minimum wage to $16 an hour.

The company also says it will begin offering up to 12 weeks of fully paid paternity leave, for any man who becomes a dad through birth or adoption.

“These expanded benefits are about creating conditions for our entire team’s success,” said Mark Reid, USAA executive vice president for human resources. “This helps USAA to bring in and keep a talented and diverse group of people who feel their best, while they fulfill a noble mission - serving our members and each other.”

With about 22,000 employees locally, USAA and its subsidiary companies are the largest private employeer in San Antonio.
