The National Hurricane Center says Hurricane Dorian has gained strength as it heads toward Florida. The latest update says the Hurricane Hunter reconnaissance plane has found Dorian stronger and headed due west. The Category 4 hurricane is now 445 miles east of Palm Beach and is moving westward with maximum sustained winds of 145 miles-per-hour. The eye of the storm is traveling at 12 miles-per-hour and should reach the Bahamas tomorrow and be near Florida late Monday. A Hurricane Warning is in effect for the northwestern Bahamas, and hurricane watches may be required for parts of the Florida coast later today.
