Rep. Byron Donalds on Harris Lies, Border Failure, and Trump's Day-One Fix

In an insightful interview on "The Joe Pags Show," Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL-19) discussed Kamala Harris’s campaign trail rhetoric, the ongoing border crisis, and how Donald Trump could potentially turn the economy around on his first day back in office.

Donalds started by critiquing Kamala Harris, noting that all it once took to expose her was to quote her own words. He pointed out that Harris is acting as if she has only served in the Senate for four years, despite being the Vice President. On the topic of inflation, Donalds criticized Harris for pretending to be unaware of how it happened, emphasizing that she was the deciding vote on the Inflation Reduction Act, which he argues has hurt middle-class American families the most.

Addressing moderate, independent, and slightly left-leaning voters, Donalds urged them to closely examine Harris’s economic policies, which he described as disastrous. He questioned whether anyone would trust a person who hasn’t worked in the private sector since high school to handle the economy.

Donalds explained that the Biden administration has the power to close the border using existing federal laws but chooses not to act. He argued that the current border crisis was "manufactured by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris," highlighting that despite having the authority, Harris would not close the border on the first day of her administration. Donalds further accused the Democratic Party of having a longstanding desire for open borders, emphasizing that this crisis is a direct result of their policies and intentions.

Donalds also expressed concern over the mainstream media’s lack of professionalism, stating that they have lost credibility and are not to be trusted. He accused the media of being "in the tank" for the Democratic Party and of hiding Harris from the public because her visibility would lead to instant defeat.

The conversation then shifted to HR2709, a bill Donalds introduced, which demands accountability for the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan. He criticized them for abandoning billions in equipment, thousands of allies, thousands of Americans, and causing the deaths of 13 brave heroes due to negligence.

Finally, when asked how quickly Trump could turn the economy around if he wins, Donalds responded that he believes Trump could do it within six months to a year. He outlined a plan involving cleaning out regulatory rot, increasing domestic drilling, capping government spending, and implementing further tax cuts to get the economy back on track.
