Secret Service Failures Exposed with Erik Prince

In a recent interview on "The Joe Pags Show," Erik Prince, founder of Blackwater and expert in dignitary protection, provided a scathing critique of the Secret Service's handling of the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. Prince's insights highlighted significant security lapses and offered a detailed analysis of what went wrong.

Prince's initial reaction to the assassination attempt was one of shock and dismay. He described the incident as "grotesque malpractice," expressing disbelief at how close the shooter was able to get to Trump. Prince explained that the security perimeter was fundamentally flawed from the start. He stated that the perimeter should have been established more than a thousand yards from the stage to ensure comprehensive coverage of potential threats, especially from elevated positions like the building where the shooter was located.

He detailed the series of failures, from local police not stopping the shooter earlier to the Secret Service not immediately pulling Trump off the stage. Prince criticized the training of some of the agents, suggesting that either the training standards have changed or the bar has been lowered too far. He highlighted the catastrophic nature of these failures, noting how narrowly Trump escaped harm, and drew parallels to the assassination that sparked World War I.

Prince recounted hearing a female Secret Service agent ask, "What are we doing?" right after Trump hit the floor, which raised concerns about whether the right personnel are in place. Prince emphasized that planning and threat evaluation are critical in dignitary protection, especially in the current global climate, which he described as "a very dangerous time."

Responding to Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle's comments, Prince labeled them "the dumbest excuse he’s ever heard." He argued that the issue is not necessarily the number of agents but the quality of their training. Prince shared his strategy, stating he would have placed agents on the highest ground and utilized drones for enhanced surveillance.

He also claimed that Jill Biden has higher security than Trump, attributing it to her "will to power." When asked if everyone should be fired, Prince responded that while many competent agents exist, their reputations are tarnished by the few who have not earned their positions. He criticized the policy that agents are only allowed to observe first and not take immediate action when necessary.
