House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has voiced optimism about Ohio Republican Jim Jordan's prospects to succeed him as the House Speaker. In an interview on "Fox and Friends" this morning, McCarthy emphasized his commitment to helping Jordan secure the Speaker's position during the upcoming vote on the House floor.

Jordan's candidacy for Speaker gained significant momentum after his nomination by Republicans late last week. What was once a contentious race has seen several Republicans who initially opposed Jordan now publicly announcing their intent to support him.

To be elected Speaker, Jim Jordan will need to secure a minimum of 217 votes. As he garners increasing support within his party, it becomes increasingly likely that he will assume the role of Speaker of the House.

This development unfolds two weeks after Kevin McCarthy was removed from the Speaker's position in a historic vote initiated by Florida Republican Matt Gaetz. Gaetz joined Joe Pags in an interview, providing insights into the motivations behind his decision to oust McCarthy and the implications of this leadership change within the Republican Party.

The ongoing changes in House leadership reflect the dynamic nature of American politics, with party members navigating evolving priorities and strategies to shape their future direction and approach to the nation's challenges.
