Mexico is just one step away from doing away with Daylight Saving Time -- although if the bill passes, keeping track of the time zones will likely be just as confusing as it was before.

In a 59-25 vote, Mexico's Senate on Wednesday decided to end the practice of changing the clocks throughout the country -- except in cities and towns along the U.S. border. The bill next goes to President Andres Manuel Lopez, whose signature will make the law official. It's expected to go into effect on Sunday, when the country turns back the clock for one last time.

Health Secretary Jorge Alcocer has been pushing for the bill's passage, saying Mexico should return to "God's clock."
