The mourners lined up to pay their final respects to Queen Elizabeth II are now facing a 24-hour wait, palace officials have revealed.
The line of people, which begins miles away from Westminster Hall, has only gotten longer in recent days, going from a nine-hour wait on Thursday to a full day on Friday, according to the palace. Although palace officials attempted to thin out the herd by suspending visitations for a short time on Friday, the mourners refused to leave -- and the line grew even longer.
The queen’s body is on display at Westminster Hall until Monday, when it will be transported across the street for her funeral at Westminster Abbey.
