The head of the Texas Department of Public Safety says he'll step down if investigators determine state troopers had any role in the failed response to the Uvalde school shooting.
Steve McCraw tells CNN he'll resign if an inspector general investigation reveals DPS had "any culpability" in the delayed response at Robb Elementary School.
McCraw also clarified a remark he reportedly made during a meeting last month that "nobody will lose their jobs" over the response to the shooting, stating he only meant one regional director in the department.
Five DPS officers are being investigated in connection to the response to the shooting, including two that have been suspended with pay.
