The Justice Department is appealing a federal judge's decision to assign a 'special master' to review documents seized from former President Trump.
On Thursday, the DOJ filed a notice with the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, claiming the judge's decision harms its investigation.
The 'special master' is a third-party attorney who would review the documents and determine which ones are classified or protected by executive privilege. The judge also ordered the DOJ halt its investigation until the special master's review was completed.
