Senators plan to work this weekend on the big Democratic economic package, the Inflation Reduction Act.
Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said it will loser costs, including prescription drug prices, while further reducing the deficit and combating climate change.
Meantime, Republicans call it a massive tax and spending bill. During a Capitol briefing, South Carolina's Lindsey Graham argued the bill will not lower inflation and will make things worse.
South Dakota's John Thune said it would spend a lot of money on things that are not high on the priority list of the American people.
