The State Department is launching its new cyber bureau.
The Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy will take on diplomatic issues relating to technology in a move to modernize the department.
In a statement from the State Department, it said the bureau would deal with "national security challenges, economic opportunities, and implications for U.S. values associated with cyberspace, digital technologies, and digital policy."
It will be led by an ambassador-at-large confirmed by the Senate.
