More stories are emerging of local police departments around the U.S. trying to help Ukrainian military forces as they fight Russia's invasion.
On Monday, more than 200 pieces of protective equipment including bulletproof vests and helmets, from officers around Fairfield County, Connecticut were shipped to Ukraine.
Officials said most of it is older gear they're no longer using.
There is nothing wrong with the vests, but in the U.S., law enforcement regulations require the vests be replaced every 5 years.
Last week, the Colorado Department of Public Safety sent 750 helmets and 80 sets of body armor to Ukraine.
