Health officials are concerned about COVID-19 surging in states where vaccination rates are high.
It looks like the beginning of a seasonal increase in areas with colder weather. New Hampshire, Minnesota, Vermont, Illinois, New Mexico, Rhode Island and Colorado have seen the biggest spike over the last two weeks.
In an effort to combat the surge in Illinois, Chicago Public Schools canceled class today with the goal that students use the day off to get vaccinated against the coronavirus. The district says kids in the five to eleven age group will be eligible for a $100 Visa gift card if they get the two-dose vaccine.
