A California beachfront property that was seized from its black owners nearly 100 years ago will be returned.
'Bruce's Beach' was once a thriving resort for black families, along the Southern California coast.
It was taken from owners Willa and Charles Bruce in 1924 by the town of Manhattan Beach, supposedly to build a park. But historical records show the property "was condemned because its proprietors and patrons were Black", according to NPR.
Now, Gov. Gavin Newsom is signing a bill that will allow the land to be transferred back to the Bruce family.
