Although a number of San Francisco businesses already require customers to show proof of vaccination, the mayor of the California city has made it official.
Mayor London Breed on Thursday announced that proof of vaccination will now be required to enter San Fran's restaurants, bars and gyms. "Many San Francisco businesses are already leading the way by requiring proof of vaccination for their customers because they care about the health of their employees, their customers and this city," Breed says.
The announcement comes a week after New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio ordered a similar mandate. However, proof of only one dose is required for entrance into NYC establishments, while proof of full vaccination is required in San Francisco.
