The CDC is releasing new guidance on masks in schools.
The agency says students who are vaccinated don't have to wear masks in school this fall unless they are riding the school bus.
The CDC recommends unvaccinated students and staff wear masks at all times. It also advises unvaccinated kids in the classroom maintain three feet of distance, but it stresses that shouldn't stop classrooms from reopening.
The guidelines are for K through 12th grade students. The agency added the guidelines aren't mandatory as schools and districts may set their own policies.
