The city of Minneapolis is moving to re-open the intersection known as 'George Floyd Square'.
The area of East 38th Street and Chicago Avenue - where Floyd was killed one year ago - has been closed off with concrete barricades as a site for ongoing protests and memorials.
On Thursday morning, workers began to remove the barricades. The city says it will preserve the artwork and other Floyd memorials that have been set up in the square.
