House Republicans have chosen Rep. Elise Stefanik to replace the ousted Liz Cheney as conference chair, the No. 3 leadership position in the House GOP.
Stefanik was voted into the role Friday morning by a 134-46 vote. Afterwards, she promised her fellow Republicans that "my focus is on unity".
Cheney was removed from the position earlier this week, after losing support from a large number of Republicans over her criticism of Donald Trump. Stefanik is a Trump supporter who had the former president's endorsement for the conference chair job.
