Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson has signed off on a bill that bans transgender athletes from playing on girls or women's sports teams - making Arkansas the second state this year to pass such a law.
The bill has drawn criticism from groups such as the ACLU and Human Rights Campaign. Gov. Hutchinson said it will "help promote and maintain fairness in women’s sporting events".
Similar legislation has been introduced in dozens of states, with Mississippi passing a ban earlier this year.
