Many Americans will be checking their bank accounts this weekend as the first wave of 1400 dollar stimulus payments go out electronically.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the payments to eligible Americans will continue over the next several weeks.
The checks are part of the coronavirus relief bill that President Biden signed into law on Thursday.
Americans who make 80,000 or less per year, or couples who make 160,000 or less, are eligible for a one-time payment of up to 1400 dollars, plus an extra 1400 for each dependent child.
Checks delivered by mail will take longer to arrive.
