The Senate impeachment trial of Donald Trump continues this afternoon, after the Senate voted to move forward with the trial on Tuesday.
A vote on whether or not to dismiss the trial passed by a 56-44 vote, with six Republicans joining all 50 Democrats in ruling that the trial is constitutional.
However, a conviction will be much harder to secure - a 2/3rds majority of 67 votes is required to convict.
Former President Trump was impeached by the House last month on one count of inciting an insurrection for the Jan. 6th riot at the Capitol. The trial is expected to end sometime early next week.
