President Biden says the U.S. economy is "still in trouble." He says millions of our fellow Americans are reeling.
Biden opened a White House speech talking about the tepid jobs figures, saying the economy added 49,000 jobs last month.
He said there is "enormous pain in this country." Biden said bold action is needed quickly. He said he would like to have Republican cooperation but stressed congressional Democrats are ready to go it alone. That was a reference to the sweeping new stimulus package that is making it's way through the House and Senate.
