President Joe Biden is set to meet Monday with a group of 10 Republican senators to discuss the proposed COVID-19 relief package.
The invitation to the White House came after the lawmakers sent Biden a letter on Sunday urging him to negotiate on the proposed $1.9 trillion aid plan instead of moving ahead without Republican support.
The senators have proposed spending about one-third of that amount.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said though Biden wants a "full exchange of views," he remains in favor of moving forward with the relief package.
