Residents of Quebec are about to find out what it's like to be a prisoner in a work-release program.
Premier Francois Legault on Wednesday announced a provincewide curfew that will require everyone to be behind closed doors by 8 p.m. -- and stay there until at least 5 a.m. It will remain in effect for the next four weeks. "We are obliged to provide a type of shock treatment so that people reduce their visits,” Legault says.
Anyone caught outside between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. will be subject to a fine between $1,000 and $6,000, Legault says.
