It appears Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is asking California Senator Dianne Feinstein to give up her top post on the Judiciary Committee.
The New Yorker reports Schumer asked the oldest current member in the Senate at 87-years-old to step down as ranking member after Feinstein repeated a question verbatim a couple of weeks ago. Feinstein agreed to do so, but only after a second conversation. The New Yorker claims Feinstein forgot the first time Schumer asked.
Some staffers have said Feinstein is struggling with short-term memory. Others have said those concerns are overblown.
