Negotiations on a coronavirus relief bill have been a three-way dance between the House, the Senate, and the White House - and it's currently the Senate that's trying to pump the brakes on a stimulus deal.
According to reports, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin are getting closer to a $2 trillion relief bill - but Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is urging the White House not to take it.
Despite McConnell's fear that such a deal would "divide Republicans", he has promised to hold a Senate vote if a deal was reached.
The White House is pushing hard for another round of $1200 stimulus checks to be approved before the election, while Senate Republicans are promoting a smaller deal mostly focused on small businesses.
