Unemployment Rate Drops Below 10% For The First Time Since March

August was a mixed bag for the U.S. labor market - while fewer new jobs were added, more and more Americans are going back to work.

According to data from the Labor Department, the unemployment rate dropped to 8.4% - dropping under 10% for the first time since March.

Overall, 1.4 million jobs were added last month - down from 1.8 million jobs in July and a whopping 4.8 million in June when reopening efforts began.

While the economy has been slowly recovering through the summer, only about half the jobs lost in March and April have been regained so far.
