Surgeon General Jerome Adams says the White House coronavirus guidelines should be interpreted as a national stay-at-home order.
On NBC's "Today" show, Adams said governors have to decide whether they feel their citizens will listen to them without a stay-at-home order.
This is a direct response to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis who says he was waiting for a directive from the White House to initiate a stay-at-home order for his state.
Additionally, Adams says governors have to make the decision, but the White House is going to give the "best possible guidance" they can.
