Social Security Administration Sends Wrong Benefits Estimates

The Social Security Administration is admitting it sent out wrong numbers to some people who asked for estimates of the benefits they could expect. The agency says a glitch caused it to send out incorrect On Request paper statements to people who used a paper form to ask for information about their accounts. The agency's press office said there were errors in fewer than one-percent of the tens of thousands of paper requests the Social Security Administration gets every year.
