Concerns of the measles are continuing to grow as the CDC now estimates nearly 840 cases across 23 states. In the past week, there have been 75 new cases reported. New York is seeing the highest number of cases among the 23 affected states, with more than 270 confirmed so far. Federal health officials are pleading for parents to vaccinate their children, saying it's both safe and effective. Measles are highly contagious and potentially deadly, and had previously been declared eliminated in the year 2000.
