SpaceX Crew Dragon Has Successful Liftoff

SpaceX

SpaceX and NASA are celebrating the successful launch of the first commercial spacecraft designed to carry humans into orbit. A Falcon 9 rocket safely delivered the Crew Dragon spacecraft into orbit from Cape Canaveral early this morning. The unmanned demonstration launch is carrying a dummy astronaut nicknamed Ripley, after the character in the Alien movies. The Crew Dragon is also carrying 400 pounds of cargo for the crew aboard the International Space Station. The capsule is expected to dock with the space station within the next 24 hours.
