Over 5,000 soldiers are now in place along the southern US border. They're part of the administration's push to stem illegal immigration in what's dubbed Operation Faithful Patriot. President Trump has been campaigning for GOP candidates ahead of the midterms, pointing at a caravan of migrants seeking asylum from violence and escaping poverty as proof of what some have called an invasion. Most of that caravan made up of Central Americans is currently near Mexico City. The troops on the border will help support the border patrol, and while they won't be patrolling themselves, local law enforcement says they're glad to have the soldiers' help.
