Holiday retail sales are expected to break records by topping a trillion dollars in the US this year. A report by eMarketer projects an increase of almost six percent from last year, marking the strongest growth since 2011. It notes low unemployment, rising wages and more Americans feeling confident about the economy. E-commerce sales are expected to make-up more than 12 percent of this year's total. The Christmas holiday retail sales period runs from November 1st through December 31st.
