Wages, Salaries See Highest Jump In Over A Decade


Wages and salaries are up 3.1 percent in the third quarter for workers.  The Labor Department says the increase in income is the largest in over a decade.  Wage increases have been the missing component in the economic recovery process.  Overall compensation costs were up 2.8 percent, which is ahead of Wall Street expectations.  The growing wages and employment costs may be a sign that more inflation could be coming to the U.S. economy.
