President Trump is insisting that birthright citizenship will be ended, one way or another. In a tweet today, Trump claims "many legal scholars agree" that birthright citizenship is "not covered by the 14th Amendment" to the Constitution. Trump argued that birthright citizenship costs the U.S. billions of dollars and is very unfair to American citizens. This week, Trump said he plans to try and cancel birthright citizenship with an executive order. Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan and most constitutional experts said he can't do that.
