Michael brings flooding across Florida, the Carolinas and Virginia


Tropical Storm Michael is producing flash flooding across portions of Florida, the Carolinas and Virginia. Tropical storm force wind gusts are also occurring over portions of northeast South Carolina and eastern North Carolina.  The National Hurricane Center's latest advisory has the storm located about 25 miles south of Greensboro, North Carolina.  Michael is packing 50 mile-per-hour winds and moving to the northeast at 23 miles-per-hour.  A tropical storm warning and a storm surge watch are in effect in North and South Carolina.  The trek of Michael is expected to move across central and eastern North Carolina today and through southeast Virginia this evening before moving out over the Atlantic Ocean tonight.
