Trump Awards Medal Of Honor To Former Army Medic

Trump

A former Army Special Forces medic is the latest recipient of the Medal of Honor.  In a White House ceremony today, President Trump said Ronald Shurer repeatedly risked his life under enemy fire to help wounded soldiers in Afghanistan in 2008.  Trump called it a "tough, tough situation to be in."  Trump also noted that Shurer is battling cancer, calling him a warrior.  The Congressional Medal of Honor is the nation's highest military award.  Schurer is from Washington state and currently resides in Virginia.  He joined the Secret Service after being discharged in 2009.
