Hurricane Florence may be a tropical storm now, but there's no end to the misery along the coastlines of North and South Carolina. Florence is battering the states with maximum sustained winds of 70 miles an hour. Storm surge is leading to floods in coastal communities, while the strong gusts of wind are toppling trees and cutting power to thousands. So far, at least five deaths are being blamed on the storm. They include a mother and child who were killed when a tree fell on their house.
