Emergency Disaster Declaration For Hawaii

Hawaii

President Trump is authorizing an emergency disaster declaration to Hawaii due to Hurricane Lane.  The President approved Hawaii Governor David Ige's request for federal aid to the region yesterday.  The move authorizes the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to coordinate all disaster relief efforts required to save lives and protect property.  In a statement, Ige said the approval of the declaration means Hawaii will have quick and efficient access to federal resources as the state prepares to weather the storm.  Hurricane Lane is currently a Category 4 storm.
