Imagine if the entire police department in your community walked off the job, sound unlikely?
Well, for those in Blandford, MA it's a reality.
Why? Officers cited various safety issues, including cruisers that barely run, expired and poorly fitting bulletproof vests, non-functional radios and inadequate staffing.
In the meantime, town officials say Blandford residents can still call 9-1-1 and a state police trooper will respond.
The officers on the force said they have no other choice because their own safety has been put at risk. What do you think of their reasoning for resigning?
