New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is signing a law that will allow people facing deportation to assign their children legal guardians.

Here's how it works, parents can choose a family member or close friend to care for their children on a standby basis.

Cuomo said the measure is aimed at keeping children out of foster care centers, similar to what's happened at the southern border in the past few months.

What do you think of this bill, is it a much better solution than placing children into foster care centers?  Do you see other states following New York's lead?
