New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is signing a law that will allow people facing deportation to assign their children legal guardians.
Here's how it works, parents can choose a family member or close friend to care for their children on a standby basis.
Cuomo said the measure is aimed at keeping children out of foster care centers, similar to what's happened at the southern border in the past few months.
