President Trump's contingency plan after abruptly cancelling the Philadelphia Eagles' White House visit on Monday will be to throw a "Celebration of America" Tuesday afternoon complete with military bands playing the national anthem.
Trump cancelled the event after it was reported that many of the team members would not be participating in the trip to Washington DC.
In a 7:20am tweet detailing plans for the celebration, Trump capped the message taunting the players by writing, "NFL, no escaping to Locker Rooms!"
In a statement of their own that avoided the flap with the president, The Eagles said, "We are truly grateful for all of the support we have received and we are looking forward to continuing our preparations for the 2018 season."
