What National Guard Troops on the Border Can and Can’t Do

posted by The Joe Pags Show -

With hundreds of National Guard troops on their way to the U.S.-Mexico border, there have been many questions about what they can and can't do.

According to Defense Department officials, troops will not perform law enforcement activities or interact with migrants or others who are detained without permission.

The DoD also says troops will only carry weapons in "circumstances that might require self-defense."

What can they do?  Some of their efforts will revolve around aviation, engineering, surveillance, communications, vehicle maintenance and logistical support.

What other questions would you like to see answered about the Guard's role at the border?
