Santorum: Kids Should Take CPR Classes Instead of Fighting for Gun Laws

A day after the March for our Lives, CNN commentator and former Pennsylvania GOP Sen. Rick Santorum is catching heat for his words about students who were out to speak out against gun violence.

"How about kids instead of looking to someone else to solve their problem, do something about maybe taking CPR classes or trying to deal with situations that when there is actually a violent shooter that you can actually respond to that." Santorum said on CNN.

The program manager for Everytown for Gun Safety, Erica Lafferty, didn't take too kindly to Santorum's words saying, "Rick Santorum's words are an insult to the kids of Parkland, my family, and to the countless others who have loved ones taken by gun violence.

Regardless of his detractors, Santorum stands by his comments.

What are your thoughts on Rick Santorum's comments on gun laws and the March for Our Lives movement?

David Hogg, who has been a face for the gun control movement, has since responded to Senator Santorum.
