Oscar Ratings Crash Yet Again?

Why won't people watch the Oscars anymore? That is the question that many will be asking yet again today.

Last night’s ceremony drew a 18.9 Live+Same Day rating in the metered market households. That was off 16% from last year’s 22.4 rating, which was a nine-year low.

Have the Oscars hit rock-bottom or could the ratings go even lower? The 18.9 appears to be even worse than the numbers for the event when Jon Stewart hosted back in 2008. That even did a 21.9.

Have you stopped watching? If so... why? Is it the political slant? Is it because you haven't seen many of the movies being nominated?
