Minnesota Senator Al Franken resigned from Congress on Thursday, becoming the latest member of Congress to fall following accusations of inappropriate behavior.

Franken said “serving in the United States Senate has been the great honor of my life, today, I am announcing that in the coming weeks, I will be resigning as a member of the United States Senate.”The senator joined Congress following a successful career in comedy, which included a stint on “Saturday Night Live,” in 2009.He was re-elected to a second term in 2014.
